Has the referendum been fraudulent? Has Chavez cheated to the opponents? The truth is all of them recognize he has won this referendum in favor of abolishing term limits for elected officials. The fact is that all of them claim the favorable treatment and advantage he has gotten from all the the government bodies.
Two days ago an observer from the Spanish Conservative Party (PP) was kidnaped and forced to leave Venezuela given his public statements against Chavez. This kind of "revolutionary" behavior doesn't do any good for the public image of the country. But do you think Mr. Chavez cares?
He is probably one of the smartest politicians and leaders in twenty first century. He has half of the population against him, the US and many other countries (li probably Spain). He probably has even people within his party that want to take him down... and he is still there implementing a softer version of the Cuban socialist revolution. It probably has helped him the amount of oil reserves that Venezuela has but there is no doubt about his politic and physiologic skills to preserve his position and leadership for his party and for the country
